The Collector's Heart A British witch romance short drama

She is the keeper of the Fortune Veil, a tent of red velvet and candlelight that travels a dark carnival circuit. People come to Seraphina's table looking for answers. They leave with nothing but a beautiful memory, and something of theirs stays behind in her deck. The cards never lie, and she is always hungry. In a hundred years, no one has ever stayed.

Then Lucian arrives. He is an heir marked by a dying star, carrying a curse that has eaten his light for a lifetime, and he is tired of running. He sits down at her table and asks for a miracle. Seraphina reads his cards and sees his doom. Then she sees something that frightens her far more: hope. For the first time in a century, the collector hesitates.

After the carnival closes, he meets the woman behind the veil, the one who feeds the old donkey and gives a child hope without taking anything in return. The cards keep turning up The Lovers. His curse can be broken, but it would cost her everything she has ever taken.
