Lucian, the lord of Blackwood Manor, is cold, controlled and dangerously handsome, and he is dying. An ancient curse is spreading beneath his skin, and nothing has ever eased the pain. Nothing, until Elara touches him. He found her name in an old spellbook, and he does not know why she is the only one who can quiet it. He only knows he cannot let her go.

Elara is sharp-tongued and unafraid, and she refuses to stay away from the forbidden corridor, or from him. Every touch brings them closer, and every touch wakes something inside him. When she finally kisses him, the curse breaks open and the monster the kingdom feared is revealed: a winged dark fae king with burning sapphire eyes, who has waited his whole life for her.
